With rustic beauty, the traditional style of this bowl will give you a warm feeling every time you use it. This wide bowl is the shape and style of a traditional Japanese 'matchawan' tea bowl used for preparing and drinking matcha tea in the Japanese tea ceremony. The ceramic Minoware bowl has an off-white colour with uneven edges and a hand painted 'sakura' cherry blossom design in pink and green. The glaze features crackles and marks from the kiln giving it a very traditional and individual feel. The large size of the bowl also makes it useful for general tableware; for serving rice, soup and other side dishes as well as snacks and desserts. The bowl measures 14.5cm in diameter (about 5¾") and 7.5cm high (about 3"). It holds about 350 ml of fluid (about 12 fl oz). Each bowl is individually packaged in a black gift box. Because of the hand painted design and rustic glaze effects, each item may differ slightly from that shown in the pictures. Not recommended for dishwasher or microwave. Made in Japan.
